Terms of Use

The ground rules for using this website, its guides and its free tools.

Last Updated:

These terms apply to the website of Batterline San Diego Retaining Walls (“Batterline”, “we”). By using the site you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

What the information on this site is

The guides, service pages and area pages explain how retaining walls work, how San Diego-area permit rules apply and what usually drives the price. They are general information for planning. They are not engineering, geotechnical, legal or insurance advice for a particular property, and they don’t replace a site visit, a licensed engineer’s design or the rules a permit office applies to your address. Permit thresholds, fee schedules and code sections are described as the agencies publish them and can change; the agency’s current rules govern.

Price ranges and the cost calculator

Prices on this site, including those in the cost calculator, are typical San Diego-area budgeting ranges. They are not a quote, an offer or a promise of what your wall will cost. Agency permit fees are shown as the agency’s schedule sets them and are paid at the rates in effect when the permit is issued. The price for your wall is the one in a written estimate prepared after a site visit.

The wall assessment

The retaining wall assessment sorts what you describe into a planning level using fixed rules. It can’t see the footing, the drainage or the soil behind a wall, and its result is not an inspection, a diagnosis or a statement that a wall is safe. If a wall or slope has moved and people or property are at risk, keep everyone away from it, and call 911 if a building, a gas meter or power lines are involved.

Estimates and the work

Sending the estimate form or calling doesn’t create an agreement to do any work. Work is agreed in writing, in an estimate or contract that sets out its scope, price, permit responsibilities and exclusions, and that written agreement governs the work rather than anything on this website.

The printable checklist and site content

You’re welcome to print and use the planning checklist and to share links to any page. The text, graphics and design of this site belong to Batterline or are used with permission, and may not be copied for commercial use without permission.

The site links to government agencies, Google Maps and other outside websites for reference. Batterline doesn’t control those sites and isn’t responsible for their content or availability.

Using the site properly

Please don’t use the forms to send anything other than a genuine request, try to interfere with the site or its spam protection, or collect information from it by automated means.

Limits

The site is provided as it is, without promises that it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, Batterline is not liable for decisions made from the general information on this site without a site visit and a written estimate.

Changes

These terms can change; the date above shows when they were last updated. For questions about them, call the number at the top of the page or use the contact form.
